On Friday 21st September, the Hospital of God celebrated World Alzheimer's Day with two very sepcial events held in Blackhall and Hartlepool.
This is an international campaign aimed at raising awareness and challenge the common stigma that surrounds the diseae. It provides an opportunity for organisations like ourselves, and individuals across the world to spread the word about issues faced by people living with dementia and demonstrate how we can help people live well with dementia.
It is also a great excuse for all of us at the Hospital of God to get together and celebrate the work that goes on in our charity throughout the year.
This year, we held two celebratory events at Blackhall Community Centre and the Avenue Ballroom in Hartlepool, where people were invited along to enjoy a meal and entertainment as well as finding more out about our valuable services, and supporting the fund raising work of our day centres. Both events were sold out, and everyone had a great time.
